The Birdfeeders

My parkade is about 5 blocks from my office. I chose that one because it's the cheapest one I found (only $100/month) and is covered. It's located in the parkade/below a hotel in downtown Edmonton. To get to my office I go up the elevators into the lobby and out the doors, across the street and thru another parking lot. Then I go around the corner, down the block and across the street. The parking lot between the hotel and street is very interesting.
At first I found it a bit intimidating because there is a couple of nightclubs just off of it (Starlite Room and YAfterHours)...both of which are known for their "rowdiness" but then I looked closer. There's a church on the far side of the parking lot. It's an older brick one that you could imagine seeing in some B grade movie about inner city work.

But that's not what this post is about, it's about the most beautiful thing I've seen so far today. Walking across the parking lot I saw these two old ladies. At first I thought they were homeless because they were dressed kind of "frumpy" (Michael always laughs at that word). They were talking quietly. I soon realized that they weren't talking to each other, but to the tons of pigeons at their feet. They were tossing birdseed to them from a bag and quietly talking to them. It was so incredible. I know - it was very simple, but for some reason it touched me.

God whispered to me a reminder this morning thru these beautiful women:
"See the birds of the air, if I will look after them, I'll look after you too. "

A hug from God thru the kind acts of two old women.
